This is Why Holistic Narcissistic Abuse Recovery is Important

The Best Resources for Holistic Narcissistic Abuse Recovery

Throughout my life, I approached healing in very compartmentalized ways. At times, I devoured self-help books. At other times, I focused solely on my health and somatic healing. Other times, my emphasis has been primarily on my spiritual health.

The Best Resources for Holistic Narcissistic Abuse Recovery

I’ve determined through my years of professional and personal experience, that a holistic approach to healing is often most beneficial to folks who have experienced narcissistic abuse, intimate betrayal, emotional abuse, sexual coercion by a partner, and other forms of relational harm.

What Does Holistic Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Look Like?

When I began to take a holistic approach for my own recovery, it looked like this:

  • Setting reminders for hydration and nutrition

  • Prioritizing rest and sleep (this including learning to give myself permission)

  • Becoming educated about abuse & trauma

  • Becoming involved in a support community

  • Developing an exercise plan that didn’t overwhelm me, but allowed my body to work out anxiety

  • Scheduling appointments to see my doctor and check my hormone levels

  • Taking inventory of what people, activities, job situations, etc., were causing stress in addition to the trauma I was in recovery for - and then learning how to set boundaries with what was not serving me.

Because this worked so well for me, I decided to work toward becoming a credentialed trauma coach so that I could support other women on their journeys to recovery and healing.
